We focus on goals tailored to your needs to ensure that you receive the most appropriate intervention.
Yes Original Therapies have extensive experience in completing housing adaptation grant reports.
There are 3 different grants you can apply for to remain safe and independent in your home:
- Housing Adaptation Grant for People with a Disability
- Mobility Aids Grant Scheme
- Housing Aid for Older People Scheme
To access the above grants you will require an Occupational Therapy report. The cost of the report can be refunded to a successful grant applicant. You can gain more information on the grant process from Citizen’s Information and from your local County Council.
Contact us today and we will ensure you receive a timely report and begin the process of returning to safe independent living.
Original Therapies will provide services to you if you live in Laois, Offaly, Kildare, Kilkenny, Tipperary and Carlow.
If you do not live in one of these counties, then contact us and we can work out a solution for you.
The Occupational Therapist (OT) will organise a time that suits you to meet in your own home environment. The OT will then discuss your past medical history, social supports, previous therapy input, and also address any areas of concern you have. The assessment may involve you moving around and interacting with various aspects of your home. The assessment process will generally last for 1 hour.
Depending on the results of your assessment it may be necessary to complete a follow-up assessment to look into areas of your cognitive function or specific tasks identified in the initial assessment.

Occupational Therapy is a healthcare profession offering support to people with physical, psychological, and social problems to enable them to live life to the fullest. Occupational therapists help people to do the everyday activities that they want to do and need to do when faced with illness, injury, and disability or challenging life events (AOTI, 2020)
Occupational therapists focus on assessing a person’s ability to complete daily tasks that are meaningful to them. Goals are formulated in conjunction with the client. The occupational therapist and client work together, focusing on a client’s strengths to achieve set goals.
Yes we provide a range of services for residents in nursing homes. These include but aren’t limited to:
